Kolkata Knight Riders lost the second qualifiers against Sunrisers Hyderabad last night at the Eden Gardens by 15 runs. The team was obviously dejected with the loss but KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan posted a heartfelt message on social media for the team after they lost the game. SRK said he was proud of the team and said KKR did well.
The actor posted a smiling picture of himself and captioned the same, “Well was not to be. Will have to cancel my flight but KKR well done. U did yourself proud. All of u so so well done. Love you & yes I am smiling. Thks for the entertainment & so many moments of glory. V r an awesome team! @kkriders.”
After winning the toss, team KKR asked the opponents to bat first. Sunrisers made a total of 174 runs and lost 7 wickets. Rashid Khan scored vital 34 runs and off 10 balls. He scored two 4s and four 6s. He also scalped wickers of Chris Lynn, Andre Russell and Robin Uthappa. After winning the Man of the Match Award, he said, “It was much-needed for me, wanted to give my 100 percent in all departments. Focus was to just believe in my skills. I was happy with the batting, it was needed in the end. I started my career as a batsman, I believe in my skills and wanted to finish off well. I just tried to pick the lengths, the focus was to play straight. That was the plan from the senior players. Fielding is one department where you can't make excuses, compared to last year, I've worked really hard in my fielding. If I can't contribute with bat or ball, I'm always looking forward to contribute on the field. Modern cricket demands that. I'm working hard on that."
