Under 19 star and Kolkata Knight Riders batsman, Shubham Gill is surely learning the tricks of the trade not only on the field but also off the pitch. The right-hander is not only giving nightmares to the bowlers but even a troll on social media who asked him to speak in Punjabi. So here’s what happened.
Yesterday Shubham Gill hit a half-century at the Eden Gardens against the Chennai Super Kings thus leading the team to victory. His crucial contribution to the team got him the Man of the Match Award and later the youngster gave a video interview where he was seen speaking in Hindi. The official of the team shared the short clip on social media. The video was captioned, “In conversation with the Man of the Moment - @shubmangill 💜 #KKRvCSK #KKRHaiTaiyaarax.”
All his fans commented on the interview shared by the KKR. But a troll asked Shubham Gill to speak in Punjabi or else the cricketer would face grave repercussions. He even went on to abuse a few of Shubham’s fans. This obviously didn’t go down well with the KKR star. Shubham without even getting annoyed or losing his calm replied to the troll in Punjabi. Talking about Shubham’s innings yesterday, he scored 50 runs off 36 balls. This earned him heaps of praises from skipper Dinesh Karthik. After winning the match, Dinesh Karthik hailed the efforts of the youngster and said, “Credit to the franchise, they picked a lot of under-19 players. They are refranchiseed players. That boy is special. I don’t want to hype it up and put extra pressure on him. I can see a lot of years of India Blues in him.” With this, the team has moved to the number 3 spot of the IPL 2018 Points Table.
