Delhi Daredevils’ (DD) wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Sunil Narine walked away with a couple of awards at the end of Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018). Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were crowned IPL 2108 Champions after their eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Pant was named as Emerging Player of IPL 2018 besides winning the Stylish Player Award as well. The left-handed batsman finished as the second highest run-getter in the IPL 2018 with 684 runs from 14 games, which included unbeaten 128 against SRH.

Narine, on the other hand, won the Super Striker and Valuable Player awards. The KKR all-rounder scored 357 runs at a strike rate of 189.89 besides scalping 17 wickets. Runner-up captain Kane Williamson had something to cheer at as he won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament. The right-hander scored 735 runs. Meanwhile, DD’s Trent Boult defeated AB de Villiers’ ‘superman catch’ to walk away with Perfect Catch award. Boult took stunning one-handed catch millimetres inside the boundary rope to dismiss Royal Challenges Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli. IPL 2018 Purple Cap.

Meanwhile, defending champions Mumbai Indians, who failed to make it to the playoffs, were given the Fairplay Award. Punjab Cricket Association and Cricket Association of Bengal were also awarded in two separate categories.

The win was CSK’s third title win out of nine editions. The Chennai-based franchise made a successful comeback after being suspended for two seasons. Previously, in 2010 and 2011 the men in yellow were crowned the champions.
