Indian Premier League (IPL) is around the corner and the buzz around the Twenty20 tournament is simply electrifying. The 11th edition of the IPL is scheduled to begin from April 7, and the final of the tournament slated to be played on May 27. This year, Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will mark their return after a hiatus of two years, when they were banned by the Supreme Court.

The VIVO IPL auction, this year, saw a lot of surprise buys; not to forget a lot of established players were not picked any franchises in the cash-rich cricket league. Chris Gayle, being purchased on third attempt by Kings XI Punjab on his base price is a testimony of the fact that franchises were smart with their spending.

With IPL 2018 fast approaching we take a look back at the records of the 10th edition of the IPL. It was a huge hit among the fans and it was Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) that defeated Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the final to win the coveted IPL trophy.
