Ravi Shastri is facing tough competition from Tom Moody who is also closely running for the position of Head Coach. The tenure of the coach will last up to September 5 to November 24, 2021.
As per reports floating around on the Internet, it is said, Ravi Shastri is favourite for the job and it wouldn' be surprised if he once again becomes the coach of the Indian cricket team.

For a few days now, there have been speculations over the head coach of the Indian cricket team. After CWC 2019, Ravi Shastri’s tenure was extended and he is currently with the team which is in West Indies for three ODI, as many T20Is and a couple of Test matches. Now, the process of coach selection has begun and the BCCI has shortlisted six names for the same. But on Friday, Phil Simmons back out due to personal reasons and this leaves us with five options. Ravi Shastri and Tom Moody will be the ones who will be on skype. The contenders will discuss the roadmap for Indian cricket’s future. The meeting is currently underway at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. Kapil Dev, former India head coach and the head of CAC, Anshuman Gaekwad and former India women’s team captain Shantha Rangaswamy has been appointed by the CoA will be selecting the coach for the Indian team.
