India have beaten West Indies and what a performance it has been from the hosts! Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana's fifties set the tone for a big score in the first innings and the bowlers came out and did well to defend a 196-run target, with ease at the end. India have a 1-0 lead in the series and West Indies will need to look back at the things that went wrong in this match. Deandra Dottin celebrated her Rs 1.7 crore payday at the WPL 2025 auction with a solid half-century and Qiana Joseph struck 49. But there was not much support from the others. Qiana Joseph has started to find the boundaries more regularly alongside Deandra Dottin, who has joined her in the middle. India will look to separate this pair or else this game could change.

India are in control of this game after giving away just 35 runs while taking one wicket in the powerplay. Qiana Joseph has struck some big hits but that it hasn't happened consistently is a cause of worry for the visitors. India will look to put more pressure here on West Indies and take a couple of more wickets. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur is not on the field and Smriti Mandhana is captaining India in this innings.

Qiana Joseph's big shots have helped West Indies gain a bit of momentum here. The left-hander has smashed two sices off Renuka Singh's bowling in the third over and West Indies will look to have some more boundaries in these first six overs.

The West Indies captain went for a big shot but skied the ball and Minnu Mani does well to complete the dismissal despite falling down. India have a great start! The run chase has begun with Qiana Joseph and Hayley Matthews starting the run chase. The first over bowled by Renuka Singh Thakur yielded just two runs and West Indies will look to make the most of the powerplay if they are to have the upper hand in this contest. 

India finish with 195/4, a very good effort possible due to fifties by Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana. Both the batters pounced on the lose deliveries while also rotating the strike regularly to put pressure on the West Indies. Both the players also shared an 81-run partnership off 44 deliveries. India might not have gotten 200 but this is a good target for West Indies, who would believe they can win this with the firepower they have! An exciting innings awaits!
