IND-W Win By 211 Runs | India Women vs West Indies Highlights of 1st ODI 2024: Smriti Mandhana, Renuka Singh Power Hosts to Dominating Victory

Out! Shamilia Connell miscues one from Priya Mishra and with it, West Indies Women's innings comes to an end. Comprehensive win for India. First the hosts produced a huge performance with the bat. West Indies were nowhere in the chase as they suffered a collapse with Renuka Singh scalping five wicket. India take 1-0 lead in the series and will be confident going ahead in the series. 

Out! India move closer to victory. Karishma Ramharack gets agitated and swings her bat at a delivery from Deepti Sharma. Doesn't get the entire of it and it scoops to mid-off. India are one wicket away from victory. Ramharack c Renuka Singh b Deepti Sharma 11(14).

Out! West Indies keep losing wickets in a hurry. First Priya Mishra catches Zaida James in front of the wicket and then Renuka Singh continues her wicket taking streak by dismissing Shemaine Campbelle who top edged one in the hands of mid-on. Out! West Indies continue collapsing. This time it is Shabika Gajnabi to depart. Pitched up ball. Gajnabi goes for the straight drive but like every other Renuka delivery, it jags back and dismantles her stumps. India nearing a massive victory here. Shabika Gajnabi b Renuka Singh 3(5).

Out! What a catch from Harmanpreet Kaur. Aaliyah Alleyne was getting impatient and she tried to go over mid on. Almost achieved it when Harmanpreet Kaur decided not today. Leaps in the air, timing the jump perfectly and grabs the ball one handedly. Tremendous catch and West Indies are half down now. Alleyne c Kaur b Renuka Singh 13(23).

Out! Oh West Indies are falling apart here before the chase has even started. Renuka Singh continued to scalp wickets as she dismissed Deandra Dotting as she went across and got cleaned up. It was followed by Titas Sadhu foxing Rashada Williams by an off cutter and she also got her furniture wrecked. This is the worst case scenario for West Indies now. Dottin b Renuka Singh 8(11) and Rashada Williams b Titas Sadhu 3(16).

Out! Huge wicket for India. Full and wide outside off, Hayley Matthews goes for the big drive but the ball takes a small nick on the way to the hands of Richa Ghosh. There's a huge spike on UltraEdge as the ball goes past the bat, and the Indian players are overjoyed. Out! Wicket in the first ball. That's lazy running from Qiana Joseph. Matthews calls for a quick single but Joseph just hobbles to the other side and was never making it with that kind of running. Looked like she is carrying an injury. Qiana Joseph run out (Rodrigues/Richa Ghosh) 0(0).

That's a big total for India Women. After Smriti Mandhana gave them a solid start, Harleen Deol and Harmanpreet Kaur carried it forward and Richa Ghosh along with Jemimah Rodrigues gave them a strong finish. The conditions are very good for batting but even then it will be a difficult chase for West Indies. 

Out! Jemimah Rodrigues was looking good as she nailed some shots and scored some brisk runs for the India Women towards the end of the innings. Tries to go inside out but missed and the ball hits the off stump. Zaida James was the bowler, who also gets Saima Thakor in the same over by catching her in front of the wicket. West Indies are trying to stop India as early as they can. Rodrigues b Zaida James 31(19) and Saima Thakor lbw b Zaida James 4(2).

Out! Consecutive big wickets for West Indies as Richa Ghosh dismissed. She was in-form and looking good. Length delivery on middle, Richa Ghosh leant in to sweep, didn't get to the pitch of it and got a top-edge that flew straight up, easy catch in the end. Richa Ghosh c Connell b Matthews 26(13).

Out! Huge blow for India. Harmanpreet was pressing the accelerator but now she has to depart because of a mix up. Once again, poor running from Harmanpreet. She was ball-watching and set off very late. She had no hope of making her ground. West Indies will definitely be happy with this wicket.  Kaur run out (Afy Fletcher/Campbelle) 34(23).

Out! Harleen Deol perishes. Deol was looking good and nearly approaching her half-century but see a length delivery just outside off from Deandra Dottin and hacked right across the line with a cross bat. It took an inside edge and crashed into the stumps.  Harleen Deol b Dottin 44(50).

Out! Smriti Mandhana perishes before her century. Massive wicket for the West Indies. Mandhana walked across and tried to paddle one and got caught infront of the wicket. Big blow for India. Mandhana lbw b Zaida James 91(102).

Harleen Deol has just came to the crease and has some time to find the rhythm in the crease as Smriti Mandhana at the other end is keeping the scoreboard ticking comfortably. India will look to go big here after such a start. 

OUT! Debutant Pratika Rawal falls for scratchy 40. Rawal's included a few close shaves, where the batter looked fidgety. Looking to drive the ball, Rawal handed Hayley Matthews a simple catch and bowled. Pratika Rawal c and b Hayley Matthews 40(69)

FIFTY! Smriti Mandhana has looked in complete control of her innings after surviving a close call during the early part of her innings. Madhana took just 61 deliveries to reach her half-century, which included seven fours. 

In last few overs have yielded good results for India, with debutant Pratika Rawal upping the ante. Rawal has quickly entered the 30s territory while continuing from her good form, Smriti Mandhana is nearing her 28th half-century in ODIs. 

50! Team Fifty comes up for India, where Smriti Mandhana has picked up the scoring rate for the home side after West Indies opening bowlers bowled with line and length in their first spell. Pratika Rawal is lucky to survive in the middle after Afy Fletcher dropped a simple catch at mid-off. Rawal tried to hit Hayley Matthews for a lofted shot but failed to get any elevation. 

After the first few overs, the pair of Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal have not looked cohesive in the middle. Both players have survived a close call while running, and have had their catches fall short of the fielders. Madhana is doing the bulk of the scoring for India Women.
