India Women Likely XI vs South Africa Women in 2nd ODI
Top-order: Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma will continue to open the innings for India in this match. While Mandhana starred with a terrific century, Verma fell for just seven runs, a knock which included just one four. She would be hoping to get back into form and having some runs under her belt alongside Mandhana. Middle-Order: Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to bat for India at number four. A big knock is long due from the bat of the Indian skipper and she will look to get amongst the runs in the second ODI, after managing just 10 runs in the series opener. Jemimah Rodrigues, who looked decent for her 17 off 28 balls, will also be keen on making it big at number five. Richa Ghosh will continue to don the wicketkeeping gloves for India.
All-Rounders: It were the all-rounders whose cameos coupled with Smriti Mandhana's brilliance helped India reach a fighting total. Deepti Sharma, who made her 200th international appearance in the last match, scored a handy 37 runs while Pooja Vastrakar added 31 off 42 to propel India towards the end. Deepti and Pooja were on song with the ball as well taking one and two wickets respectively.
Bowlers: Renuka Singh will once again lead India's bowling attack against South Africa. The right-arm pacer's sensational delivery to dismiss Laura Wolvaardt in the first over is still fresh in the minds of Indian cricket team fans. Asha Sobhana and Radha Yadav will be the two other spin bowling options alongside Deepti Sharma. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur had rolled her arms over for a couple of overs and we might see in action with the ball again.
Will the M Chinnaswamy Stadium witness another Indian win or would South Africa find a way to bounce back and keep the series alive? India would certainly have the momentum on their side after that 143-run win in the series opener and will hope to carry on from where they left off.
