India Women Beat South Africa Women by 5 Wickets in 2nd ODI to Take Invincible 2-0 Lead in The Series, Record 5th Consecutive Bilateral ODI Series Win

India women defeated South Africa women in the 2nd ODI by 5 wickets. India won the consecutive second game of the three-match ODI series, thereby winning the series 2-0 as well. India women also managed 5th consecutive bilateral series win in ODIs. India are unbeaten in ODI series since April 2018, when they defeated England in a bilateral ODI series 3-2.

India women defeated South Africa women in the 2nd ODI by 5 wickets. India won the consecutive second game of the three-match ODI series, thereby winning the series 2-0 as well. India women also managed 5th consecutive bilateral series win in ODIs. India are unbeaten in ODI series since April 2018, when they defeated England in a bilateral ODI series 3-2. South Africa women scored 247-6 batting first and Indian team comfortably achieved the target with two overs to go. South Africa bowlers largely failed to defend their score. Ayabonga Khaka was the most successful South African bowler with 3 wickets, while Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp grabbed 1 wicket each. Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Proteas openers Lizelle Lee (40) and Laura Wolvaardt (69) ignited a great start for their team. Mignon du Preez (44) and Lara Goodall (38) were other batswomen who played good knocks. India women showed great collective efforts in bowling. Shikha Pandey, Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav clinched 2 wickets each and restricted South Africa below 250. Punam Raut was awarded player of the match for his astonishing knock.

Earlier, India defeated South Africa 3-1 in the six-match T20I series. India Women vs South Africa Women, 3rd T20I is scheduled to be played at Reliance Stadium in Vadodara on October 14.
