After the senior team clinched the Asia Cup 2018 in UEA a few days ago, it was the turn of the Indian U-19 team to prove their dominance in the continent in the ACC Asia Cup 2018. And they did it quite well.  The Indian Under 19 team led by Simran Singh beat Sri Lanka comfortably at the Sheer- E-Bangle Stadium in Dhaka by 144 runs to clinch the ACC Asia Cup 2018. After winning the toss, the Indian team elected to bat first. The openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Anuj Rawat gave a blistering start to the team by bringing up a massive partnership of 142 runs for the Indian team.

Jaiswal scored 85 runs off 113 balls hitting eight fours and one six in the course of his innings. Whereas Rawat made 57 off 79 balls with four 4s and three sixes but soon made way to the pavilion. Devdutt Padikkal got out quite cheaply on the score of 31 runs off 43 balls. Whereas, captain Simran Singh and Ayush Badoni were blazing guns with the score of 65 and 52 runs respectively. The Indians piled a mammoth of 304 runs for the loss of three wickets. Only Nishan Madushka and Navod Paranavithana scored more than 40 runs for the Sri Lankan team.

It was India’s left-arm spinner Harsh Tyagi who bowled magical spells and snapped six wickets of the Lankans giving away only 38 runs in 10 overs. They did not have any answers to the killer deliveries bowled by the Tyago registered the figures of 10-0-38-6. Tyagi even walked away with the man of the match award for his performance.
