IND Win By 42 Runs | India vs Zimbabwe Highlights of 5th T20I 2024: Sanju Samson Hits Fifty, Mukesh Kumar Takes Four Wickets as India Secure Comprehensive Win, Clinch Series 4-1

India won the match by 42 runs! What a performance from the Men in Blue, as they now have a 4-1 series win! Sanju Samson struck a fifty in the first innings to help India post a challenging total and the bowlers followed it up with another good show. Mukesh Kumar, included in the Indian playing XI, starred with four wickets as India bowl out Zimbabwe for just 125 runs. A massive response from this young Indian team after losing the series opener. India's next generation in the shortest format have announced their arrival in some style and this series win will give the players a world of confidence. Zimbabwe on the other hand, would aim at learning from their mistakes made in the series. They have a Test match coming up against Ireland shortly and will look to prepare hard for it.

OUT! India have a big wicket and it is that of Sikandar Raza, who has to depart! And guess what, it is Johnathan Campbell who is involved in a mix-up again! Raza played a shot and called for a single. Campbell ran hard and Raza was a bit late to take off. OUT! Washington Sundar has managed to provide India a much-needed breakthrough as he traps Tadiwanashe Marumani lbw. Marumani was early on the shot and the ball struck him on his arm. Zimbabwe are taking the attack to Ravi Bishnoi with Tadiwanashe Marumani hitting the leg-spinner for two fours, one on either side of the wicket. Marumani is ensuring that Zimbabwe maximise the powerplay as they score  47/2 in six overs.

Mukesh Kumar has been good so far but would rue the fact that he overstepped and the ball went on to crash into Tadiwanashe Marumani's stumps. Zimbabwe have managed 31/2 so far in five overs and India are in control at the moment.

India have finished on a high with the Men in Blue amassing 167/6 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson was the best Indian batter today with 58 runs off 45 balls and Shivam Dube provided some late impetus with an 11-ball 22. Rinku Singh also struck a couple of big hits in the final over as India finish with a decent total. Zimbabwe would want to have a good start like yesterday, while India eye early wickets.

FIFTY for Sanju Samson! The wicketkeeper-batsman has starred with a brilliant knock and stood up with the bat with wickets falling at the other end. Samson has seized this opportunity with both hands and will look to make it a big one from here on. 

Sanju Samson is playing a gem of a knock here and he is clearing the field at ease with his elegant strokes. With India already having 122 runs on the board. already, he and Shivam Dube will look to pounce on these remaining four overs and take the team to a score of around 160-180. 

OUT! Zimbabwe have broken this important partnership with Brandon Mavuta dismissing Riyan Parag. The right-hander attempted a big shot down the ground but could not make the desired connection with Richard Ngarava doing well to pull off a good catch. India have produced a strong response in this match after being three down inside the first six overs. The partnership between Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson have yielded 65 runs so far and one of these two players would now want to step foot on the accelerator and hit the big shots consistently with the likes of Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh waiting to come. 

Sanju Samson is turning it on here. The right-hander struck two massive sixes off Bradon Mavuta's bowling and India are right back on track for a big score here. This partnership between him and Riyan Parag also has crossed fifty and the two will aim at continuing hitting the big shots.
