India continued its dominance over hosts West Indies with a clinical 59-run victory in the second ODI game between India and West Indies. Virat Kohli smashed several records en route his 42nd ODI century, while Shreyas Iyer, batting in an Indian ODI jersey in 18 months, made a valuable 70 to take India to 279 runs in 50 overs. Iyer and Kohli were involved in a century-run partnership.
Chris Gayle then overtook Brian Lara to become the highest ever ODI run-getter for West Indies. But he couldn't get going and despite a fighting partnership between Evin Lewis (65) and Nicholas Pooran (42), West Indies never looked in the chase. Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished with a 4-wicket haul to lead India to a victory.

India has beaten West Indies by 59 runs in a rain-curtailed second ODI game to take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series with one match remaining to play.
