Ever since the start of the T20I series against West Indies, Rishabh Pant had been at the receiving end for his poor performance. In the first match the youngster got out for a golden duck and in the second game, he made way back to the pavilion scoring four runs. However, in the third T20I, Pant played a vital role in leading India to a seven-wicket victory and the Men in Blue whitewashed the series by 3-0. Needless to say that the netizens were immensely happy with Pant and Virat Kohli for their half-centuries and showered praises on the duo. After a delayed start in the game, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pacer Deepak Chahar snapped three wickets and gave an early breakthrough to the visitors. But Kieron Pollard stood tall and stabilised the hosts by scoring 58 runs from 45 balls. A little more contribution from others helped them post a total of 146 runs. KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan got out early in the game. But Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant scored 59 and 65 runs respectively and played a vital role in winning the game by seven wickets. After the match, Virat Kohli hailed the performance of Deepak Chahar for his three wickets and praised the team for the clinical show. Krunal Pandya who contributed both with bat and ball was made the Man of the Series. Last year in 2018, India had also whitewashed the series. This is India’s first win after India’s debacle in the CWC 2019. India will play the three-match ODI series on August 8, 2019, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
