The Wankhede Stadium, MCA might not host the fourth ODI between India and West Indies which is scheduled to be held on October 29, 2018. Issues like signing the authority to dispense payments and the vexed issue of complimentary tickets have marred the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The officials of the body state met BCCI CEO Rahul Johri at the headquarters on Tuesday. A source from the MCA said that they explained their situation to the board but they were asked to come for another meeting which will be held on Thursday. India vs West Indies T20I: Impasse Over Complimentary Tickets Continues at Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

The MCA representatives CS Naik, and managing committee members Ganesh Iyer, Armaan Mallick, and Unmesh Khanvilkar attended the meeting. It is usually the secretary who clears all the payments of any president or secretary.  However, in case of The Mumba Cricket Association, they could not pay for the hotel bills for the home team during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It was the BCCI who actually bailed them out and now on Monday, the MCA approached the High Court for guiding them in this regards. The Hugh Court then pushed the MCA to Supreme Court and the hearing is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

On April 6th, 2018 justices VN Kanade and Hemant Gokhale were appointed by the Bombay High Court to oversee the functions of the MCA. But their tenure ended on September 15 and no other official holds an authority of signing the cheques and make payments. As a result, there have been delays in the payments of MCA staff officials and players’ allowances.

“We also explained to Johri the problem with the complimentary passes policy of the Committee of Administrators (CoA). We need to give four passes each to our 330 club members, apart from reserving quite a few for various government agencies who help us in conducting the match,” said the source further. As per the new rule of the BCCI, 90% tickets should be sold to the public, with only 5% being allowed for the respective associations.
