India Win By Seven Wickets | India vs United States of America Highlights of ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav Shine As India Qualifies For Super Eight

That's It! Things looked tricky for India at the halfway mark but too shots from Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube coupled with the five-run penalty gave a much-needed momentum to India and they managed to gather enough to get through.  Earlier, Arshdeep Singh played a key role to restrict USA to a total India were comfortable to chase.  India become the first team to qualify for Super eight from Group A.  

USA get a blow in the gut as Aaron Jones got docked five runs as penalty as he took thrice more than sixty seconds to start a new over. The penalty completely turns the game in India's favour who have their nose ahead now. USA look a little down. 

Finally after a long gap Suryakumar Yadav connects one and gets a crucial boundary which releases the pressure a little bit. Saurabh Netravalkar dropped Suryakumar's catch a while ago and now it might cost USA who put themselves in a competitive position. 

There has been some variable bounce from the wicket and twice there was chances that either of Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav could get dismissed. Dube edge one which went past the stretched hands of Andries Gous to the boundary and one sweep attempt from Suryakumar Yadav didn't carry to the wicketkeeper either. 

Not much happened after the Rishabh Pant wicket. USA were tight on their lines and lengths and Indian batters have played cautiously accumulating runs. The game is still in India's control but they will not want much pressure to be mounted on them. One or two wickets at this stage can prove to be game changer for USA. 

Out! Big blow for India. As they were looking to gain some momentum in their innings, Ali Khan cleans up Rishabh Pant. Ali's round arm action makes the ball skid through and hit Pant's stumps. USA will believe again. 

The first two overs have brought USA straight back into the game but India has a lot of quality batting remaining and Suryakumar Yadav alongside Rishabh Pant has already shown a glimpse of it. They look to consolidate as well as hit some boundaries easing the pressure. 

Out! The struggle of the Indian captain for runs continue as Saurabh Netravalkar strikes again. The ball stops a bit om Rohit Sharma who goes through the shot closing the bat face a bit and the ball loops on the Harmeet Singh at mid off. USA are on the up now. 

Out! Saurabh Netravalkar strikes. This time it is the big wicket of Virat Kohli. Netravalkar shapes one swiftly across and Virat Kohli gets a nick on it on the way to the wicketkeeper. Fantastic bowling and well earned wicket. 

Out! The innings started and ended with a wicket. Despite the poor start at one point Steven Taylor, Nitish Kumar and Corey Anderson really looked threatening to India but timely wickets didn't cause much damage. Arshdeep Singh was at his best as he scalped four wickets. Mohammed Siraj also bowled a good last over to stop USA from getting any extra runs. India will be confident in the break but we know how the pitch has played out in the past. 

Out! Arshdeep Singh is having a good day out here. Going into the wicket pulling the length back and it has paid good dividends for him. Harmeet Singh tries to hit him onside and the ball gets big on him taking a top edge. Rishabh Pant takes a routine catch . 

Out! Hardik Pandya removes Corey Anderson before he could do much damage. Goes full and Corey tries to go over onside. But gets more height than distance and Rishabh Pant runs in to take a nice catch. India take back control after a short good phase for USA. 

Out! Nitish Kumar dies by his own sword. Goes for the pull shot off Arshdeep Singh and times it extremely well but the square boundary was too long to clear. Mohammed Siraj runs back and then times his jump brilliantly to take the catch over his head. Big wicket for India and excellent catch by Siraj. 

Two good overs for USA. Nitish Kumar first took the attack to Hardik Pandya hitting some class strokes down the ground and then Corey Anderson showed some of his vintage glimpse hitting Axar Patel for a massive six. USA need runs on board and they will need these two to stay there. The pitch seems to have eased out a bit. 

Out! Wicket at a bad time for USA. Steven Taylor was set and he was playing some big shots and the run rate was just about to tick over. Axar Patel comes back strong and skids one through the arm and Taylor drags it back to the stumps. India take control once again. 

Some pressure is released after Shivam Dube came to the attack with the ball. Possibly a move for Rohit Sharma considering how things go later in the competition but it doesn't work well. Two boundaries including a six in that over and USA breathe a little easy. Axar Patel has joined the attack as well. 

Out! Pressure was building up and something had to give. Bumrah and Hardik kept it tight from the two ends and despite Bumrah bowling a wide which went for a boundary, Hardik got the wicket in the next over. Bangs it in short, Aaron Jones goes for the pull and the top edges the ball in the hands of deep fine leg. Big wicket for India. 

Both Steven Taylor and Aaron Jones are heavily under the pump as India close out the powerplay giving only two runs in the last two overs. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are closing in on the batters and they are finding no opportunity to score off the duo. 

After the first over pushed USA into the backfoot they have looked to recover through their veteran batters Aaron Jones and Steven Taylor. They have looked to consolidate the innings and play out the new ball threat. Jones hitting a six off Mohammed Siraj has helped the run scoring too. 

Out! The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium pitch at its best. Length ball from Arshdeep, Gous swiftly lets his hands go through the ball but gets big on him with the bounce and just goes up. Hardik Pandya at mid on takes a simple catch. India on top straightaway.
