Indian women’s cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka for limited overs tour. This will be Indian women’s team’s first-ever bilateral series with Sri Lanka. The tour kicks off with the first One-Day International (ODI) at Galle. The three-match ODI series will be part of ICC Women's Championship. The Championship will determine qualification for the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup. Along with hosts New Zealand, top three teams will qualify for the World Cup. The Championship started in October last year and will end on February 2019.
India have played six Championship matches thus far, winning just two. The wins came against South Africa. India are currently placed sixth on the points table with just four points. The five-match T20I series begins on September 19 and ends on September 23. The T20I series will be played across three venues- FTZ Sports Complex in Katunayake, Colts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo and Colombo Cricket Club Ground apparently in Colombo as well.
