Sri Lanka have won the Women's Asia Cup T20 2024! What a superb batting performance it has been for the hosts, who rode on impressive knocks from captain Chamari Athpaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama to beat India by six wickets. This is the first time that Sri Lanka have won the tournament and this win will be celebrated for a long time to come in the island nation. India were impressive all throughout the tournament but mistakes on the field cost them the match. 

Three overs left and Sri Lanka need 25 runs to win this match. This contest is headed towards a tense finish and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the end. Will India continue its Asia Cup domination or would Sri Lanka win it for the first time?

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu is leading the charge for her team in this final as she is taking the attack to the Indian bowlers in this match. Sri Lanka have the momentum, scoring 72 runs in nine overs. 

The Indian women's cricket team has had a decent start in the second innings, giving away only 17 runs in three overs. Pooja Vastrakar once again has been good form. Sri Lanka have suffered a setback, losing Vishmi Gunaratne to a run out. 

Smriti Mandhana led Indian batters with 60 runs from 47 balls. Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues scored quickfire 30's to put a decent total on the board. It's up to the bowlers now. 

Despite losing wickets at the other end, Smriti Mandhana steadily kept the scoreboard ticking as Women in Blue now has 100 runs on the board after 14 overs. Smriti Mandhana completed her half century.
