That match had everything in it and the momentum kept swinging like a pendulum. India were off to a great start with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scoring runs at a very good pace. But Sri Lanka did not give up and kept hanging in there. The bowlers took wickets at regular intervals and did not let India run away with the contest. Charith Asalanka took a big review when the ball had raced to the boundary after it struck Shivam Dube on his pads. The DRS showed three reds and later, Arshdeep Singh was trapped right in front and this time too, the DRS did not have any hesitation in showing that it was plumb. It was India's game to lose from the position they were in but Sri Lanka did extremely well. Apart from Rohit Sharma's 58, no Indian batter could get past the fifty-run mark. India batted well in patches but Sri Lanka will take a lot of inspiration from this morale-boosting performance. Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka took three wickets each while Dunith Wellalage, after his 67*, ended up with two wickets.Ā

What drama! Sri Lanka have tied the match and what a bowling performance it has been! Charith Asalanka dismisses Arshdeep Singh, who was struck in front as he went for a wild slog. The match ends in a tie! The Sri Lankan players are ecstatic and the Indian dressing room is in disbelief!Ā

02 Aug, 21:56 (IST)

OUT! Just when one thought India have won it, it is Charith Asalanka who dismisses Shivam Dube! A DRS showed three reds and India are dented big time! A rollercoaster of emotions and the crowd is cheering hard for the hosts! Will we see a tie?

02 Aug, 21:50 (IST)

Shivam Dube is the key here for India, with India needing just five runs in three overs. Sri Lanka applied a lot of pressure by regularly taking wickets but Shivam Dube has ensured that India's winning run on this tour continues.Ā

02 Aug, 21:41 (IST)

OUT! India lose an eighth wicket and it is once again Wanindu Hasaranga, who has bowled a sensational delivery to castle Kuldeep Yadav. This match is getting tense every over and we are in for an exciting finish.Ā Kuldeep Yadav b Wanindu Hasaranga 2(10)

02 Aug, 21:27 (IST)

OUT! Charith Asalanka has struck for Sri Lanka and removed the set Axar Patel, who gets a slight edge with Kusal Mendis taking a good catch. India are under pressure here with three wickets in hand and still 34 runs needed to win.Ā Axar Patel c Kusal Mendis b Charith Asalanka 33(57)

02 Aug, 21:21 (IST)

OUT! Oh no! Just when it seemed that India were regaining control of this chase. KL Rahul has played a poor shot and has perished. The right-hander attempted to sweep a Wanindu Hasaranga delivery but ended up top-edging it and Dunith Wellalage takes a simple catch. KL Rahul c Dunith Wellalage b Wanindu Hasaranga 31(43)Ā

02 Aug, 20:40 (IST)

KL Rahul and Axar Patel are out in the middle and they are looking at steadying the ship for India here. Quick wickets by Sri Lanka after a positive start by India has somewhat tilted the momentum in favour of the hosts. But India needĀ 82 runs to win off 120 balls and it should be achieved.Ā

02 Aug, 20:18 (IST)

OUT! Sri Lanka now have put India under pressure with Asitha Fernando dismissing Shreyas Iyer with a peace of a delivery. Earlier, Wanindu Hasaranga got Virat Kohli and now, the visitors seem to be under the pump here. It is a massive phase in this match.Ā ViratĀ Kohli lbw b Wanindu Hasaranga 24(32) andĀ Shreyas Iyer b Asitha Fernando 23(23)

02 Aug, 19:44 (IST)

OUT! India have lost a third wicket in this match with Akila Dananjaya trapping Washington Sundar LBW. He did go for a review but it was eventually 'umpires call' which prevailed. India's ploy to have Sundar at number four did not work.Ā Washington Sundar lbw b Akila Dananjaya 5(4)

02 Aug, 19:36 (IST)

OUT! Dunith Wellalage continues to impress and this time, he has taken the big wicket of Rohit Sharma. The ball was very full and Rohit went for a sweep shot, only to miss it. The ball went on to hit Rohit on his pads and he did not review and rightfully so. Out comes Washington Sundar in place of designated number four Shreyas Iyer. Rohit Sharma lbw b Dunith Wellalage 58(47)

02 Aug, 19:27 (IST)

OUT! Dunith Wellalage's good day at the office continues as he dismisses Shubman Gill. The right-hander top-edged the ball which ballooned into the air and Kusal Mendis did well to take the catch despite Wanindu Hasaranga too going for it. Sri Lanka have a much-needed breakthrough.Ā Shubman Gill c Kusal Mendis b Dunith Wellalage 16(35)

02 Aug, 19:17 (IST)

FIFTY for Rohit Sharma! The Indian captain has played some fine shots and looking in solid touch. He has a half-century off 33 balls and looks good to make it big!Ā

02 Aug, 19:01 (IST)

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have taken India to a solid start here in this run chase. Both players have ensured India are on top early in this match and the two have struck some exquisite shots on both sides of the wicket. India will score close to around 100 runs inside the first 10 overs if this is the way the match goes.Ā

02 Aug, 18:43 (IST)

Rohit Sharma has shown no signs of rust as he struck a big six off the just ball of the first over bowled by Asitha Fernando. India have scored 12 runs off the first over and would aim to make the most of the powerplay. Sri Lanka on the other hand, will eye an early wicket.Ā

02 Aug, 18:14 (IST)

Sri Lanka finish with 230/8 on the board, largely due to Dunith Wellalage, who batted well and scored an unbeaten 67. It was a fine performance from Sri Lanka's lower middle and lower order as they have taken the hosts to a fighting score. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel took two wickets each while Mohammed Siraj, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar finished with one apiece. The pitch is turning and the chase won't be an easy one if Sri Lanka manage to put India under pressure early!Ā

02 Aug, 17:55 (IST)

FIFTY for Dunith Wellalage and it is his first in ODIs! It has been a solid performance from the left-hander who has given Sri Lanka's innings the impetus it needed after they lost a heap of wickets.Ā

02 Aug, 17:52 (IST)

Dunith Wellalage has shown a lot of intent and his performance has helped Sri Lanka get past 200. He will now look to score as many runs as possible in these remaining three overs to post a fighting total.Ā

OUT! A wicket against the run of play as Arshdeep Singh dismisses Wanindu Hasaranga! The ball was there to be hit and Hasaranga ended up hitting it straight to Axar PatelĀ at backward point. Sri Lanka have lost a wicket at a crucial stage, which could make a difference of about 20 odd runs to the eventual total. Wanindu Hasaranga c Axar Patel b Arshdeep Singh 24(35)
