Colombo, March 6: Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field against India in the opening match of the Nidahas T20 Trophy at Colombo's Premadasa Stadium. All-rounder Vijay Shankar received his maiden India cap ahead of the toss. Batsman Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian side with regular skipper Virat Kohli and senior wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has been given rest for the tournament. Earlier, there were speculations over match taking place after the Sri Lankan government on Tuesday decided to impose a state of emergency for 10 days to control law and order, following the violence against the minority community in Kandy district over the last two days. But Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president CK Khanna said that the board does not foresee any problem in the scheduled Tri-Nation Nidahas Twenty20 Cup.
