Johannesburg, February 10: Opting to bat, India posted a competitive 289 for seven against South Africa in the fourth ODI on a Pink Day at the Wanderers Stadium.Ā Shikhar Dhawan scored a quick 109 in his 100th ODI, while skipper Virat Kohli made 75.Ā Lungi Ngidi (2/52) and Kagiso Rabada (2/58) picked up two wickets apiece for South Africa.

India looking for the fourth win on a trot were limited to the score of 289 by Proteas bowling attack. The visiting side who were once at 200-2 in 34.2 overs could just manage to add 89 runs in the total in the remaining overs. It is not entirely Indian side's fault as their rhythmĀ was snapped because of a break due to lightning and rains.

Apart from Dhawan who became the first Indian to hit a century in 100th ODI, skipper Virat Kohli and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also chipped in with useful runs. For the first time, Indian middle-order was tested and the results were disappointing withĀ Ajinkya Rahane and Hardik Pandya getting out cheaply.

Brief Scores:Ā India: 289 for seven in 50 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 109, Virat Kohli 75; Mahendra Singh Dhoni 42 not out; Lungi Ngidi 2/52, Kagiso Rabada 2/58).
