India vs South Africa 3rd Test 2018: Mohammed Shami Scripts Emphatic 63-Runs Win For Virat Kohli-led Team India

Johannesburg, January 27: India won the third Test against South Africa by 63 runs after bundling out the hosts for 177 in their second innings on the fourth day. In a dramatic turnaround, South African lost their last eight wickets for 53 runs as India remained unbeaten at Wanderers. Chasing 241, South Africa were placed comfortably at 124 for two at one stage but their innings folded for 177 following a dramatic collapse. South Africa win the three-match rubber 2-1 but it is India who ends the series on a high note.

Dean Elgar, who took a nasty blow on his helmet yesterdayand forced early stumps, was the top scorer for his side with a fighting unbeaten 86-run knock. He stitched a 119-run partnership with Hashmi Amla whose departure at a personal score of 52 runs opened the gate for hosts. For India, it was Mohammed Shami who proved to be wrecker-in-chief in the second innings.

Shami picked up five wickets to leave Proteas high and dry. All bowlers contributed to side's victory especially when Ishant Sharma sent Amla packing to bring India back in the game. The tall pacer also took the all-crucial wicket of South African skipper Faf du Plessis.
