Who doesn’t remember the historic scenes at Kingsmead Stadium, in Durban, in 2007, when India defeat Pakistan in an exciting bowl-out contest, which took place after a nail-biting tie between the two sides in their group match at ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa! It has been 11 years to that bowl-out contest which India, eventually won.

Do you have faint memories of how Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Robin Uthappa helped India cross the final hurdle after Misbah ul-Haq’s heroics almost took the game away from the Indian team?

Pakistan needed a run to win on the last two balls of the match, with Misbah on strike. However, a dot on the penultimate ball and a run-out on the last ball ensured that the match ended in a tie. With the tie, India kept its record, of winning all of its matches against Pakistan at World Cup events, intact.

However, the tie meant that India would be competing against its arch-rival in a bowl-out contest – something which was unheard during that time. It was more of a penalty shoot-out wherein a player had to hit the stumps while bowling a regular delivery. India hit, Pakistan missed and the rest they say is history.

The tournament final saw both, India and Pakistan clashing against each other again. The Indian team, under the leadership of MS Dhoni, won the match and the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 eventually.

Since then, the Indian cricket changed its gears and appointed a new driver in MS Dhoni. It has been 11 years to the amazing piece of history, which is still etched in the eyes of every cricket fan!
