It seems that the rain gods in Sri Lanka do not want a full India vs Pakistan match. The group stage match between these two sides had to be called off in Kandy with no play being possible in the second innings of the match after India had posted 266. With there being a forecast of rain in Colombo as well, the Asian Cricket Council assigned September 11 as the reserve day for the India vs Pakistan match in the Super Four stage. And the heavens, as was predicted, opened up which led to play being stopped with India at 147/2 in 24.1 overs. Fans would be relieved that at least this time the India vs Pakistan showdown is likely to have a result unlike what had happened during the group stage in Kandy. So how will the weather pan out on the reserve day that play eventually was no longer possible on September 10? India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Reserve Day Rule: Here's When IND vs PAK Super Four Match Can Be Shifted to Next Day.

India had a great start with the bat after Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started to take the attack to the Pakistan bowlers, hitting them on both sides of the wicket. That put Pakistan on the backfoot early on and it was not until the 16.4 over that Pakistan finally had some success with Rohit Sharma departing for 56. Shubman Gill followed suit soon and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were at the crease when rain halted play.

It means Rahul and Kohli will walk out to bat and resume proceedings with India at 147/2 in 24.1 overs with the action beginning at 3:00 pm IST (Indian Standard Time).
