India vs New Zealand Highlights 1st Test 2021 Day 3: IND 14/1, Lead by 63 Runs at Stumps

Stumps, Day 3 | That's the end of day's play. India are in driver's seat despite losing Shubman Gill early. Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin shined with the ball and handed India a valuable lead of 49 runs. At close of play, India are 14/1, effectively 63/1.

Tea Break | What a comeback by India. India picked four wickets for just 52 runs in this session. Axar Patel was brilliant and so were other bowlers. Lunch Break | At the brink of the lunch, Umesh Yadav strikes for India. New ball does the trick as Kane Williamson is trapped in front of the wickets. The NZ skipper opted for DRS but all in vain. It is three reds! And with it lunch has been taken on day three.

Kane Williamson has joined Tom Latham in the middle and the duo has thus far shared 37 runs for the second wicket. India had an opportunity to send back Tom Latham was given not out by the umpire but DRS showed it was three reds had hosts taken the review. This has been a good start for New Zealand once again. Both Tom Latham and Will Young look comfortable as India continue to search for a breakthrough. India have had few opportunities but not the easy ones.
