After the resumption of play on the reserve day, New Zealand finishes with 239 for eight in their quota of 50 overs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final match. Resuming on an overnight score of 211 for five, New Zealand had 23 balls remaining in their innings. Right-handed middle-order batsman Ross Taylor, who resumed on 67, scored 74. Yesterday, New Zealand opted to bat first and got off to the worst possible start. Opening batsman Martin Guptill once again failed to get going and was dismissed in the fourth over by Jasprit Bumrah. The moves did not work and the Blackcaps were left reeling at 200 for five in 44.4 overs. Tom Latham then joined Taylor in the middle but soon heavens opened up and the play was eventually suspended after a long wait.
