The two T20I against Ireland will take place on June 27 and 29 at The Village stadium at Malahide in Dublin. Meanwhile, Kohli along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and KL Rahul was seen having a batting practice in a video posted on BCCI's official Twitter handle.
“An intense training session for #TeamIndia ahead of the two T20Is against Ireland,” read BCCI’s tweet along with the video. Meanwhile, this will be for the first time that India and Ireland face each other in a bilateral T20I series. The two sides have met just once in the game’s shortest format, and that too during the World T20 2009. India won that match by eight wickets. Interestingly, son of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun, was also present at Team India’s one of the training sessions. The youngster also received some valuable tips from head coach Ravi Shastri. Arjun has been named in India's under-19 squad for the two four-day matches against Sri Lanka in July. BCCI also shared pictures of Arjun receiving some tips from Shastri.
Meanwhile, India will look to start their long UK tour on a positive note. Ireland have been playing some good cricket of late, but it won’t be easy for them to beat India cricket team, who are ranked third in T20Is.
