While the opening day’s play looks set to be spoiled by the rain, the playing XIs of India and England for the Lord’s Test have apparently surfaced on the Twitter. However, there is no confirmation of the same.
The first two sessions of the second Test match between India and England at Lord’s Cricket Ground were washed out following persistent rains. The rains resulted in the delay of the toss as well. While the opening day’s play looks set to be spoiled by the rain, the playing XIs of India and England for the Lord’s Test have apparently surfaced on the Twitter. However, there is no confirmation of the same.
A Twitter user with the name ‘fake_bumrah_’ posted the image of a scoresheet in which he claims India are unchanged for the 2nd Test. If at all it is true, then Cheteshwar Pujara has been ignored once again. The right-hander was dropped for the opening Test at Edgbaston, which India lost by 31 runs. Following the defeat in the first Test, the inclusion of Pujara in the playing XI for next match gained momentum. Opener Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul both failed to impress and thus it made the case stronger for Pujara’s return.

What makes us believe that the scoresheet shared belongs to the second Test is the fact that under England’s column it has Ollie Pope’s name who was drafted in the squad following the first Test.
