India vs England 3rd Test 2021 Day 1 Highlights: England 120/0 at Stumps, Lead by 42 Runs

The first day's play of the third Test match in Headingley entirely belonged to England. First, they destroyed the Indian batting order, bowling them out for just 78 runs with James Anderson and Craig Overton picking three wickets apiece and then Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns joined forces to put together a 120-run unbeaten opening run partnership. The Indian bowlers didn't seem to make any impact whatsoever as the English openers took time to settle down and then later, changed gears to hit some stylish boundaries. Hameed (60*) and Burns (52*) both struck half-centuries as England have set their sights on a good first innings total, having already leading India by 42 runs. 

England have ended the first day's play at 120/0 in 42 Overs. They have been extremely dominant with the bat with Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns both hitting fifties. India were earlier bowled out for just 78 runs after opting to bat first. Rohit Sharma was India's highest scorer with 19 runs. James Anderson and Craig Overton scalped three wickets apiece.

Burns have looked slightly more aggressive of the two as the Indian bowlers are unable to do enough to break the partnership. India has been hit with Ravindra Jadeja's injury on the field.

OUT! Sam Curran removes Jasprit Bumrah who was facing his very first ball. India are completely down and out now and they are staring at a very low total. Coming to the dismissal, Curran bowled a length ball and Bumrah missed while trying to flick to the leg side. He took the review but it was to no avail.

OUT! Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami depart in quick succession and Craig Overton is the man to pick both wickets, He removes Rohit Sharma with a short ball and has Shami caught behind the very next ball. India are in all sorts of trouble here.
