India vs England Highlights 1st Test 2021 Day 4: IND 39/1 in Chase of 420 at Stumps

Stumps | That's the end of day four's play. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara are the two unbeaten batsmen for India. The home side lost opening batsman Rohit Sharma early. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are the Indian openers. They will be looking to survive today and make sure India do not lose any wicket. England, on the other hand, will be eyeing to take at least one wicket.

OUT! Ravi Ashwin takes the last wicket as well. James Anderson is caught and bowled. England have been bowled out for 178. So, the target for home side is 420. It is going to be a record chase if India gets their.

England's lead has now gone past 400-run mark and still no declaration from the visitors. Jack Leach and Jofra Archer are in the middle and throwing their bat at most deliveries. England now lead by 417 runs.

England now lead by 378 runs. Dom Bess has joined Jos Buttler in the middle now. England need some  quick runs here as they will be looking to make India bat later today.

It is time for tea break on day four and England despite having lost five wickets are in a good position, thanks to the lead of 241 runs which has now swelled up to 360. Ollie Pope and Jos Buttler are in the middle for England.

OUT! Second wicket in Ravi Ashwin's kitty. Dom Sibley is caught at leg-slip. Ashwin comes round the wicket and induces an inside edge from Sibley's bat. Pujara takes the catch. D Sibley c Pujara b Ashwin 16(37)

Daniel Lawrence has joined Dominic Sibley in the middle now.  England lead by 261 runs now. They will be looking to score some quick runs before declaring maybe after the tea break.

India have been bowled out for 337, James Anderson takes the final wicket as he removes Jasprit Bumrah. Washington Sundar remains unbeaten on 85. England have not enforced the follow-on and will bat on. They have a lead of 241 runs. 

Washington Sundar is looking to score some quick runs as India are nine down now. India needs 42 more runs to avoid the follow-on. England will be looking to pick the remaining one wicket as quickly as possible.

That's half-century up for Washington Sundar. Fine knock from him. This is his second Test fifty in as many matches. Meanwhile, India trail by 294 runs with Ravi Ashwin at the other end.
