India vs England: Adil Rashid HITS BACK at Michael Vaughan; Says the Former Cricketer Has Said Stupid Things Earlier Too
England’s Adil Rashid grabbed headlines for his inclusion in the test team against India.
England’s Adil Rashid grabbed headlines for his inclusion in the test team against India. His selection in the team raised many eyebrows and set the tongues wagging. This included England’s former player Michael Vaughan who reckoned Adil’s selection as a ‘ridiculous decision’. Vaughan vented out his frustration on social media and wrote, “So we have picked someone who cannot be arsed with 4-day cricket for the Test Team ... Forget whether he is good enough or not I find this decision ridiculous ... !!!"
Vaughan’s words obviously didn’t go down well with the England spinner. Adil hit back at the former cricketer which speaking to BBC and said the opinion of the former cricketers do not matter and many former players have spoken nonsense about the current England team. "When I mentioned at the start of the year I will not be playing red-ball cricket, he (Vaughan) tweeted something then. He was being controversial and saying his stupid things then too. A lot of people have got no interest in what he says. It is about getting people to like what he says. I don't think he has an agenda against me. I played under and with him but sometimes ex-players come out and start talking nonsense about current players," said the spinner.
However, the spinner wishes to stay focused on cricket and there will be people who would hate him. But haters never bother the spinner. “There will be people out there who are not happy. There will be haters, like the pundits who are saying it is a disgrace. That is not my fault," Rashid concluded.
