Yesterday, on the day 1 of the India vs England test match at Edgbaston, it was the Indian coach Ravi Shastri who was caught napping on the cameras. This happened post-lunch when Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were building up a crucial partnership.
Harbhajan Singh who was in the commentary box asked the assistant coach Sanjay Bangar to nudge him and wake him up. Sanjay Bangar followed the same and woke him up. Shashtri then said that he was meditating and not napping. This left the commentary team in splits.

It was Ravichandran Ashwin who snapped four wickets. It was Joe Root who scored 80 runs off 156 balls. Virat Kohli who got Root run out, had a special way of celebrating his dismissal. The Indian skipper celebrated his dismissal with a mic drop gesture.
Root, with his innings of 80 became the fastest batsman of England to touch the 6000 run mark. Root got to the landmark in five years and 231 days of his Test career, surpassing former England captain Alastair Cook's mark of five years and 339 days with Root.
