Ind vs Eng Highlights Day 2, 3rd Test: India Gets the Lead of 292 Runs

With Pujara and Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli batting, India now leads by 292 runs at stumps Day 2. The highlight of the day was Hardik Pandya who scaled 5 wickets in 6 overs. 

At one time it looked like Shikhar Dhawan is getting close to his 50. But alas! A delivery from Adil Rashid and goes to the keeper. Bairstow makes no mistake and Dhawan OUT on 44.

Dhawan and Pujara bring up 100 runs for India. With this, India gets the lead of 269 runs on the board. India will look forward to post 400 runs on the board. Shikhar Dhawan getting close to his half-century. 

It looked like a good day for KL Rahul until Ben Stokes pitched it up and knocked off the stumps for the batsman. Stokes gets his first wicket. Rahul OUT on 36 off 33 balls hitting four 4s. Cheteshwar Pujara the new man in for India and he gets off the mark with a FOUR.

Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are here to open the batting for the Indians. Anderson and Stuart Broad opened the bowling for England. This session is touted to be quite a crucial one for both the sides. 

With that catch, Jos Buttler gets OUT on 39 and England gets bowled out on 161 runs. The hosts now trail by 168 runs. The highlight of the session was Hardik Pandya who got his first test fifer. Tea will be taken! Stay with us for the last session of the day 2. 

Hardik Pandya is on the roll as he snaps his first fifer in test cricket.  Also, Rishabh Pant is the first debutant to get 5 catches behind the stumps. James Anderson, the last man comes out to bat. 

Wickets falling for England back to back. Hardik Pandya traps Bairstow with an outswinger. Class act displayed by the Indian bowlers.  KL Rahul proves to be a good second slip fielder. Bairstow OUT on 15. Chris Woakes the new man hits a FOUR and then gets OUT for 8 while attempting a hook shot.  

Mohammed Shami gets a wicket as Ben Stokes Edges and KL Rahul at the second slips leaves no scope of errors. Stokes OUT on 10.  Indians continue to perform leaving England into a deeper trouble. 2 runs off the over. 

Hardik Pandya bowls a much fuller length and short of the length, KL Rahul takes a low catch in the slips. So with this, Joe Root OUT on 16 after a lot of replays by the third umpire. Pandya strikes on the first ball.  Stokes hits a FOUR on the last ball.

Third catch for Rishabh Pant as Ollier Pope gets Caught behind. The wicket-keeper does a fine job of diving. Poor technique by Pope and India continues to do good work. India back on track and critical times begin for England. Pope OUT on 10. 

Ishant Sharma gets the first wicket of the innings and Cook departs on 29. Bowls an inswinger and Pant gets his first catch in Test cricket. Cook OUT for 29 after Cheteshwar Pujara DROPS his catch in the slips. Bumrah strikes and gets caught behind. The second catch for Pant as Bumrah bowls outside off. Bumrah OUT for 20. 

And its time for lunch. India is constantly leaking runs and their generosity has actually helped the hosts get runs on the board. The Indian bowlers will have a lot of work to do and reconsider their strategies during the lunch as Cook and Jennings have begun to settle with 21 and 20 runs respectively. The pre-lunch session was dominated both by India and England. 

Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings are here to open the innings for England. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami open the bowling attack for the Indians. Had the Indian fielder been a little agiler on the field, they could have obstructed a few runs. A couple of FOURS hit in the last over. Also for the Indian bowlers, finding the right length will be the key. 

James Anderson gets a couple of wickets in the last over. One Mohammed Shami and the other Jasprit Bumrah.  Shami tosses up the length delivery and Broad gets underneath it. Shami OUT on 3. Burmah gets BOWLED on 0. With this, India posts 329 runs on the board. 

Stuart Broad strikes again. Bowls outside off and knocks of the stumps and Ashwin OUT on 14. Shammi the new man in for India. India will want to reach the total of 350. 

Stuart Broad gets rid of Rishabh Pant who misreads the ball and attempts to drive. Knocks off the stumps and Pant OUT for 24. Late swing does the magic. Bumblebee Broad does the talking as Pant walks off. Ishant Sharma the new man in 

After a 15 minute long delay, here comes the first over of the match. Stuart Broad starts the first over. Pant and Ashwin here to bat. Ashwin hits a FOUR this over.
