Rain played a spoilt sport yesterday at Lord’s on the first day of the second test match between India and England. The first day of the game started with the covers on and then begun the endless waiting game. The game was thus washed out due to incessant downpour. Since it was pouring constantly, the two captains could not step on the field for the toss. However, there is good news in store for the fans and the players waiting for the game to begin. As per the weather forecast, the day will start at the usual time i.e. 11 AM GMT. However, it is said that rain could hamper the play in some part of the day.
The weekends offer much a better weather for the test match as we can watch the 90 overs of the game. Rains will only return on Monday i.e. the last day of the match. Now, this could be bit of a problem.

Yesterday while the Indians waited for the game to start, KL Rahul made use of the delayed start. The right-hander hit the indoor nets and was seen sweating it out. The official handle of the Indian cricket team shared the video of the same on social media.

Ahead of the test match, Virat Kohli while addressing the press said, “That as I team we are just that. It’s not that we are getting rolled over or dominated. Any test match you play is competitive and people overlook that fact very easily. But when the result comes out, they will realise that this team is very competitive.”
