IND Win By 60 Runs | India vs Bangladesh Highlights of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-Up: Men in Blue Clinch Comprehensive Win to Warm Up in Style
India geared up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in some style with a dominant victory over Bangladesh in their only warm-up match. India begin their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on June 5 while Bangladesh face Sri Lanka in their campaign opener on June 8.
A comprehensive performance from India sees them down Bangladesh by 60 runs in the warm-up match at ICC T20 World Cup 2024. There were a lot of positive signs for India, with Rishabh Pant scoring runs and at a good pace, while Hardik Pandya also smashed a few out of the park. The bowlers then had a good time out in the middle, with Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube taking two wickets each. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have plenty of concerns to address before their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Sri Lanka. Thanks for joining us for the coverage!
India beat Bangladesh by 60 runs in what was a comprehensive performance. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya were excellent with the bat and the bowlers took wickets at regular intervals to stifle the run chase for Bangladesh.
OUT! Jasprit Bumrah has taken a wicket upon being introduced back into the bowling and he has got the big one of Shakib Al Hasan. India now close to clinching a big win in this practice match. At the other end, Mahmudullah has retired and Riyad Hossain has come out in the middle. Shakib Al Hasan c Rishabh Pant b Jasprit Bumrah 28(34)
Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, two of Bangladesh's most experienced cricketers are out in the middle and they are looking to resurrect this chase, which has been left in tatters with a flurry of wickets going down. This game might just have gone out of Bangladesh's grasp but as long as they are out there, this could become interesting.
OUT! Hardik Pandya is into the act now and he has taken the wicket of Tanzid Hasan! The left-hander found Arshdeep Singh who held on to the ball and Bangladesh have lost half their side with not even 50 runs on the board. Tanzid Hasan c Arshdeep Singh b Hardik Pandya 17(18)
OUT! Another wicket falls for Bangladesh and it is Towhid Hridoy departing. The right-hander wanted to up the ante and attempted a big shot but found Ravindra Jadeja near the fence. India are striking at regular intervals with the bowlers warming up in style. Towhid Hridoy c Ravindra Jadeja b Axar Patel 13(14)
OUT! Bangladesh's innings is getting from bad to worse here with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto departing for a duck. The ball hit Shanto high on his bat and Hardik Pandya ended up taking a simple catch. Bangladesh are tottering at 10/3. Najmul Hossain Shanto c Hardik Pandya b Mohammed Siraj 0(6)
OUT! Arshdeep Singh has another wicket and it is that of Litton Das, who has been castled! The ball angled in a bit and hit the stumps with Das having no clue about the delivery. India are well on top here. Litton Das b Arshdeep Singh 6(8)
OUT! Arshdeep Singh strikes in the first over by dismissing Soumya Sarkar. The southpaw played a drive to a fuller-length delivery but the ball caught the outside edge with Rishabh Pant taking a simple catch behind the stumps. Soumya Sarkar c Rishabh Pant b Arshdeep Singh 0(2)
India's innings has come to an end and they have posted 182/5 in 20 overs. India got off to a cautious start but Rishabh Pant's onslaught provided the innings with some impetus. Suryakumar Yadav struck 31 runs off 18 runs and Hardik Pandya's 40* off 23 balls gave India a strong finish. For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan, Mahmudullah, Shoriful Islam and Tanvir Islam were the wicket-takers. Can Bangladesh chase it down? Stay tuned for the second innings!
OUT! Suryakumar Yadav has found the fielder in the deep in a bid to send one over the fence. Hardik Pandya had struck three sixes in the over and SKY wanted to emulate him. But his effort was unsuccessful with Bangladesh getting a wicket. Suryakumar Yadav c Towhid Hridoy b Tanvir Islam 31(18)
OUT! Shivam Dube finds the fielder with Mahmudullah taking a good catch. Dube had connected the ball which looked set to go for a boundary but Mahmudullah showed excellent presence of mind to stop the boundary and complete the catch after returning to the field. Shivam Dube c Mahmudullah b Mahedi Hasan 14(16)
FIFTY for Rishabh Pant! The wicketkeeper-batter had a good knock with some fine shots on both sides of the wicket. After completing his fifty, he is called back to the dressing room with Shivam Dube coming out to bat.
OUT! Mahmudullah has taken the second wicket for Bangladesh by dismissing India captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit went for a big shot on the leg side but found the fielder in the deep. At the other end, Rishabh Pant is turning it on here with some fine shots. Rohit Sharma c Rishad Hossain b Mahmudullah 23(19)
Rishabh Pant has walked out to bat with Rishabh Pant in the middle after Sanju Samson's dismissal. At the moment, India's innings has progressed at a cautious manner with Rohit Sharma looking to break the shackles.
OUT! Shoriful Islam has struck and dismissed Sanju Samson. The ball struck Samson on the front pad and the umpire did not take a lot of time in raising his finger. Samson falls early in probably what was his audition for a role as opener. Sanju Samson lbw b Shoriful Islam 1(6)
Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson have opened the batting for India in this warm-up match instead of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was expected to be the Indian captain's opening partner. The outfield is not very quick, as was seen when the ball was stopped before the boundary line. Also, the amount of bounce is also a bit surprising.
Rohit Sharma has won the toss and India will bat first in the warm-up match against Bangladesh. The Indian captain confirms that Virat Kohli has been rested since he arrived recently. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman have been rested.
India will look to get their preparations for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on the right note as they lock horns against Bangladesh in a warm-up match on June 1. The IND vs BAN practice match in T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be played at the newly-constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, starting at 8:00 pm IST (Indian Standard Time). A day ago, India and Bangladesh captains Rohit Sharma and Najmul Hossain Shanto visited the venue and shared their thoughts on the same as well. India will look to put up dominant performances in all facets of the game to gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Bangladesh on the other hand, would be on the lookout for some confidence prior to the T20 World Cup 2024, especially after having lost to USA in a T20I series not many days ago.
