IND 81/3 at Stumps (Lead By 308 Runs) | India vs Bangladesh Highlights of 1st Test 2024 Day 2: Hosts in Commanding Position After Eventful 17-Wicket Day

What a day it has been in the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test with a total of 17 wickets falling, the most in a day at the MA Chidambaram Stadium so far. India are 308 runs ahead and are in a commanding position, especially after a superlative partnership between Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja which was followed by a sensational show with the ball as India bowled Bangladesh out for just 149 runs. Bangladesh managed to take three wickets, the last of which was Virat Kohli who would rue that fact that he did not opt for a DRS after being trapped LBW by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are at the crease and it will be interesting to see how India go about this innings on Day 3.

The right-hander was trapped right in front of the stumps and he did not opt for a review, with replay showing that the ball would have crashed onto the stumps. This wicket will give a lot of confidence to the Bangladesh cricket team as play is nearing its end on Day 2. Shubman Gill has been joined by Virat Kohli in the middle and the two players would aim at ensuring that India do not lose any more wickets. India's lead is nearing 300 and Bangladesh would need a sensational performance from here on to fight their way back in the match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has started on an aggressive note, hitting Taskin Ahmed for 10 runs in the first over of the third innings. India will eye a strong finish today which will help the side build on their lead on the pitch which has become better to bat on. 

Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma will walk out to bat in India's second innings on Day 2 of the IND vs BAN 1st Test 2024. The Indian team currently lead by 227 runs and they will look forward to give a big target to the Bangladeshi team.

OUT! Another wicket for India as Bangladesh lose their seventh batsman in the form of Shakib Al Hasan. Ravindra Jadeja strikes once again as the Bangladeshi batter will find himself unlucky. The Indian team is right on top in the IND vs BAN 1st Test Day 1 and they will look to tighten their grip on the match once again. All the onus will now be on Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das. 

50 up for Bangladesh. Even though the visitors have lost five wickets, experienced batter Shakib Al Hasan is trying to fight back with some attacking shots.
