While Rohit’s poor outing with the bat was one little blip in an otherwise perfect opening day for the hosts, Bangladesh were left with lots to ponder about, after getting bowled out for just 150 runs on board. Mushfiqur Rahim (43) and Mominul Haque (37) added 60% of those runs with the duo stitching the visitors’ only half-century run stand. None of the other batsmen crossed 30-run mark with the openers dismissed for six runs each and the lower order combining to score 10 runs. Imrul Kayes, who was one of the openers dismissed for six runs has now gone 28 innings without a Test fifty. India finished Day 1 of the 1st India vs Bangladesh on 86/1 with Rohit Sharma the only wicket to fall. Cheteshwar Pujara (43*) and Mayank Agarwal (37*) were the two men at the crease. Both have already stitched 72 runs for the second wicket and loo set towards a century-run partnership.
