Australia have completely taken hold of the Pink-Ball Test, where India looked underprepared. Mitchell Starc's six-wicket haul downed Indian batters, where he knocked over the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, where India bundled out for merely 180. In reply, Australia despite losing Usman Khawaja, were able to hold out Indian pacers, with Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney adding 62-run stand for the second-wicket. 

The final 30 minutes have all belonged to Australia, with India losing a review, and also visible frustration in the actions of a few players on the field. Both Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney have managed to anchor the Australian innings adding 50-odd runs, when India bowlers were on top. India will also have to worry about their slow-over rate as they are running four overs short. 

The final half-an-hour of play has belonged to Australia, where both batters have managed to score runs at a brisk pace. Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne have already added 46 runs in just 84 balls. The flow of runs will be a worry for the skipper Rohit Sharma. 

After a dull passage of play, Australian batters have managed to score boundaries, and have ensured that India does not get a breakthrough. Mohammed Siraj has been the guilty party for India, being indisciplined with his bowling. 

In an engaging passage of play between India and Australia in the final session on Day 1, floodlight failures have played a bit of spoilsport. In the single Harshit Rana over alone, the floodlights conked off twice. Meanwhile, Ravi Ashwin is back on the field, having missed most of India's bowling innings. 

After the fall of Usman Khawaja's wicket, things in the middle have spiced up, with the Indian players making their presence felt to an out-of-form Marnus Labuschagne. Harshit Rana, in particular, has been the chirping around the batters.

India could have had their first wicket, but first Rishabh Pant failed to hold on to a Nathan McSweeney's catch, which struck Rohit Sharma's wrist after ricocheting off the wicketkeeper's fingertips and went down between both players. India are starting to look a bit flustered in the middle. 

Unlike Indian batters, Australian openers have not fished outside the off-stump line, and have managed to fend off both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Usman Khawaja did manage to hit a four, but Nathan McSweeney is yet to get off the mark. 

The final session of Day 1 commences as Australian openers gear up to face Jasprit Bumrah, who has been a thorn in their success. It will be important for Australian batters not to be ultra-defensive against Bumrah. Thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy's cameo of 42 runs India managed to score 180, despite losing nine wickets for 111 runs.

The falls of wickets have not deterred Nitish Kumar Reddy. Reddy has adopted the T20 approach now in the middle and has attacked Scott Boland, who looked unplayable in the first two sessions. Reddy is also nearing his maiden Test fifty.

OUT! Mitchell Starc has just blown away India in this Test. Ravi Ashwin's small resistance in the middle comes to an end on 22, after adding 32 with Nitish Kumar Reddy. India's last recognised batting pair, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravichandran Ashwin are batting in the middle. The duo will look to take India's score near the 200-run mark, which would be some consolation for the side, that has yet again suffered a collapse.

Australia have been in control of the post-Tea session, where runs have been hard to come by for the Indian batters. Getting the wicket of Rohit Sharma was crucial for Australia, to peg India back in the Test even more.

Rain attempted to play spoilsport, but clouds went back, and players are back on the field after the tea break. Australia are better-placed having reduced India from 69 for 1 to 81 for 4. Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma will look to rebuild the Indian innings.
