Day 3 completely belonged to India, with first Yashasvi Jaiswal, then Virat Kohli, and last Jasprit Bumrah making merry against a hapless-looking Australian side. Jaiswal slammed 161, while Kohli struck his 30 Test hundred and remained unbeaten on 100*. Australia needing 534 to win, Australia lost as many as three wickets, out of which Jasprit Bumrah grabbed two.

100! Virat Kohli gains his form back and how! The Indian batting maestro silenced his critics with his 30th Test hundred, which came in deliveries, laced with seven fours and two sixes. This is Kohli's ninth century Australia and his seventh Down Under. Meanwhile, India have also declared their innings on 487 for 6, asking Australia to make 534 to win.

After the fall of Washington Sundar's wicket, India have adopted an aggressive approach, with Australia opting to not bowl their lethal trio. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy has come out of the blocks and slammed Mitchell Marsh for three consecutive fours. Kohli, on the other hand, is playing a calculative knock, and looks well-set for a hundred.

After a flurry of wickets, Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar have managed to build a partnership, which has ensured India does not suffer any problems. The duo has already added 85 runs in 171 balls, with Kohli doing most of the scoring, helping India stretch their lead past 450. The highest-ever chase in Australia is 404.

Nearing the end of Day 3, India is looking to collect as many runs as possible. After half-century, Virat Kohli is looking to take on the opposition while Washington Sundar is playing defensively.

50 for Virat! India's star batter delivered yet again for the country scoring a thrilling half-century against Australia down Under. This is Kohli's 32nd half-century and sixth against the Aussies.  

End of the 'balanced' second session. Australia took some wickets in the middle after Jaiswal's departure, but India regained control with Washington Sundar providing perfect support to Virat Kohli. Lead reaches 405, and Jasprit Bumrah might think of inviting Aussies late in the third session.

With some glorious shots and attacking batting performance in the second innings, India now has a 400-run lead in the match. Despite losing some quick wickets in the middle, India fought back courtesyof Virat Kohli and Washington sundar.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is at the centre of the massive second innings batting performance while KL Rahul also delivered forming a strong partnership and base with Jaiswal for the big total.
