After the gameplay on the Day 2 of the fourth Test match between India and Australia ended at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the visitors had a firm grip in the contest. After a heroic ton by Cheteshwar Pujara and a record-making century by Rishabh Pant posted a mammoth total on the scoreboard (622/7), before declaring in the third session of the day.
Also, Rishabh Pant scored a blazing century and remained unbeaten on 159 runs as India declared their first innings, after Ravindra Jadeja was bowled by Lyon on 81 runs. The 21-year-old left-handed batsman broke a slew of records too, during his stay at the crease.
As for Australia, the only positive for the hosts was that they didnāt lose any wicket in the last 10 overs of the day. Australian openers, Marcus Harris and Usman Khawaja, were unbeaten on the crease playing on 19 and 5 runs respectively.
