India vs Australia 1st Test 2020 Day 2 Highlights: IND 9/1 At Stumps, Lead by 62 Runs

STUMPS, Day 2 | That's the end of day's play. India have lost one wicket in their second innings but they are in a good position. After bundling out Australia for 191, India secured a valuable 53-run first innings lead. They now lead by 62 runs with Mayank Agarwal and nightwatchman Jasprit Bumrah the two unbeaten batsmen. It is time for drinks break. Australia trail by 88 runs. Meanwhile, Tim Paine has completed his half-century. Fine effort this by the Australian captain. Important for Australia that he stays there and narrows the gap in the first innings total.

Umesh Yadav has struck twice and that puts very much in control now. First he traps Marnus Labuschagne LBW and that banged in one short to Pat Cummins who couldn't keep it down.

Tea Break, Day Two | Another superb session for India and for Ravi Ashwin particularly. Three wickets for the spinner in this session as India are in control of the things. OUT! And R Ashwin is saying 'if Nathan Lyon Can, Why Can't I.' He strikes twice in quick succession as Travis Head departs after scoring just seven. The southpaw was completely foxed and gave a return catch to the spinner. Aussies in big trouble now. Head c and b Ashwin 7(20)

Travis Head has joined Marnus Labuschagne in the middle now as Australia battle out a tough period. Australia now trail by 182 more runs. The hosts need one good partnership from here and for visitors it is all about chipping away with the wickets at regular intervals.

It is cautious start for Australia. The new opening pair of Matthew Wade and Joe Burns have done well thus far, looking to survive this new ball spell from Indian pacers. Virat Kohli has used his all three pacers so far as India searches for an early breakthrough.

Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are making the new pink cherry talk as Aussies are yet to score after three overs. Joe Burns and Matthew Wade have been troubled with the swinging delivery and a wicket looks around the corner.

The players are back in the middle as the action gets underway. Joe Burns and Matthew Wade are the two openers for the Aussies while Umesh Yadav will start proceedings with the ball.

India have been bundled out for 244 runs in their first innings. The visitors could add just 11 runs this morning for the loss of four wickets.  Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins did the damage this morning and end up with four and three wickets respectively. Australia's first innings will begin shortly.
