18 Dec, 16:28 (IST)

OUT! Fourth wicket for Ravi Ashwin. Soft dismissal this! Nathan Lyon has to go. Finally Virat Kohli grabs a catch as well, he is jolly about it! N Lyon c Kohli b Ashwin 10(21)

18 Dec, 15:51 (IST)

It is time for drinks break. Australia trail by 88 runs. Meanwhile, Tim Paine has completed his half-century. Fine effort this by the Australian captain. Important for Australia that he stays there and narrows the gap in the first innings total.

18 Dec, 15:38 (IST)

OUT! Australia lose their eighth wicket. Mitchell Starc is run-out! The hosts continue to be in deep trouble, nothing going their way. It is all India at the moment. M Starc run out (Prithvi Shaw/W Saha) 15(16)

18 Dec, 15:03 (IST)

Umesh Yadav has struck twice and that puts very much in control now. First he traps Marnus Labuschagne LBW and that banged in one short to Pat Cummins who couldn't keep it down.

18 Dec, 14:19 (IST)

Tea Break, Day Two | Another superb session for India and for Ravi Ashwin particularly. Three wickets for the spinner in this session as India are in control of the things. Australia are in deep trouble having lost half the side.  Marnus Labuschagne and Tim Paine are the two unbeaten batsmen in the middle. M Labuschagne 46 | T Paine 9

18 Dec, 13:43 (IST)

OUT! You just can't keep Virat Kohli out of the game. Cameron Green tries to get a boundary in the leg side but could only find the Indian skipper at mid-wicket. Half of the Aussies are back in the hunt as India have total control. Green c Kohli b Ashwin 11(24)

18 Dec, 13:27 (IST)

OUT! And R Ashwin is saying 'if Nathan Lyon Can, Why Can't I.' He strikes twice in quick succession as Travis Head departs after scoring just seven. The southpaw was completely foxed and gave a return catch to the spinner. Aussies in big trouble now. Head c and b Ashwin 7(20)

18 Dec, 13:09 (IST)

Travis Head has joined Marnus Labuschagne in the middle now as Australia battle out a tough period. Australia now trail by 182 more runs. The hosts need one good partnership from here and for visitors it is all about chipping away with the wickets at regular intervals.

18 Dec, 12:51 (IST)

OUT! Good start after the dinner break for India. Ravi Ashwin strikes in his first over, what a start for the spinner. Straighter one from Ashwin and Steve Smith edges it to slip as Ajinkya Rahane takes a good catch. S Smith c Rahane b Ashwin 1(29)

18 Dec, 11:35 (IST)

Dinner Break, Day Two: What a morning session we have had! Six wickets fell in the first session, four Indian and two Australian. Indian pacers have responded well especially Jasprit Bumrah who removed both the Australian openers. Do join us back after the break.

18 Dec, 11:25 (IST)

OUT! Another wicket for Jasprit Bumrah. He traps Joe Burns LBW as well. The right-hander opted for DRS but all in vain. It is umpire's call once again. J Burns lbw b Bumrah 8(41)

18 Dec, 11:07 (IST)

OUT! India draw first blood. Jasprit Bumrah traps Matthew Wade in front of the wickets. Not bat involved and it is umpire's call as Wade opts for DRS in last second. M Wade lbw b Bumrah 8(51)

18 Dec, 10:54 (IST)

It is cautious start for Australia. The new opening pair of Matthew Wade and Joe Burns have done well thus far, looking to survive this new ball spell from Indian pacers. Virat Kohli has used his all three pacers so far as India searches for an early breakthrough.

18 Dec, 10:19 (IST)

Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are making the new pink cherry talk as Aussies are yet to score after three overs. Joe Burns and Matthew Wade have been troubled with the swinging delivery and a wicket looks around the corner.

18 Dec, 10:04 (IST)

The players are back in the middle as the action gets underway. Joe Burns and Matthew Wade are the two openers for the Aussies while Umesh Yadav will start proceedings with the ball.

18 Dec, 09:58 (IST)

India have been bundled out for 244 runs in their first innings. The visitors could add just 11 runs this morning for the loss of four wickets.  Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins did the damage this morning and end up with four and three wickets respectively. Australia's first innings will begin shortly.

18 Dec, 09:42 (IST)

OUT! Just two runs added to the overnight total and India have lost two wickets. Wriddhiman Saha departs on first ball he faces today. He is caught behind as well. W Saha c Paine b Starc 9(26)
