India U-19 proved their dominance by clinching the 2018 Asia Cup 2018 as the youngsters defeated Sri Lanka by 144 runs at the Sheer-E-Bangla stadium, Dhaka. It was Harsh Tyagi’s brilliant spells that helped India win the game. After winning the toss, India elected to bat and the openers did a fabulous job by cringing up the partnership of 142 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 85 runs off 113 balls hitting eight fours and one six. Anuj Rawat made 57 off 79 balls with four 4s and three sixes but soon made way to the pavilion. Devdutt Padikkal made 31 runs off 43 balls. Whereas, captain Simran Singh and Ayush Badoni too put their best foot forward by making the score of 65 and 52 runs respectively. The Indians set a target of 304 runs for the loss of three wickets. Only Nishan Madushka and Navod Paranavithana scored more than 40 runs for the Sri Lankan team. Harsh Tyagi who snapped six wickets gave away only 38 runs in 10 overs. Check out a few winning moments of the team. The BCCI’s official account also posted a congratulatory message for the team.

Pawan Shah, who is the captain of the side but had to sit out in the final due to injury said that he was disappointed for not being able to play but was happy that the team won the finals. “Yes, unfortunately, I missed out due to an injury but I am happy because my team won. It was a very well organised by ACC and I am glad we emerged out victorious.”
