The team selectors, while addressing the press, justified the inclusion of Dinesh Karthik in the final squad. "He has proved his ability to finish the games amid high pressure," they said. His inclusion, instead of Ambati Rayudu or Rishabh Pant, has emerged as a shocker for a section of the experts.

The World Cup 2019 squad includes three full-time pacers -- Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Apart from them, Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya would also chip-in with their fast-medium attack.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) senior selection committee meets today, April 15, in Mumbai to pick the Indian squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to be held in England. The Cricket World Cup starts on May 30 and April 23 has been set as the deadline for participating teams to name their squads. New Zealand and Australia have already named their World Cup squads and by the end of the day, India will have its world cup squad as well.
