India have announced the 15-member squad for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. The mega-tournament will be played in South Africa and will get underway on January 17. Prithvi Shaw and Co lifted the 2018 edition of the gala-tournament which means India will step into the event as defending champions. Priyam Garg will have the onus to lead the side and retain the title. While Dhruv Chand Jurel is named the vice-captain of the side. BCCI have announced the pretty strong squad for the event and will expect the boys to rise to the occasion and bring the title back home.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is another notable name in the squad and will open the innings for the Boys in Blue. The Mumbai-born batsman is youngest double-centurion in List- A cricket and the opposition will certainly vary off him. In the bowling department, Spinner Atharva Ankolekar and pacer Kartik Tyagi will have the onus to run through the opponents’ batting line-up and give their side an upper-hand. The team certainly has covered all the bases and have a great chance to lift the title in the rainbow nation.

India U/19 recently defeated Afghanistan 3-2 in their last 50-over assignment and thus are in good form. Mere 45 days are left in the tournament and Priyam Garg and boys should leave no stones unturned in their preparation. India lifted the tournament title in 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2018, and thus are the most successful team in the tournament. And, let’s see if the youngsters can add one more trophy in India’s cabinet or not.
