India is two runs away from clinching the second One-Day International (ODI) at the Supersport Park in Centurion. The visiting side who are chasing a small target of 119 runs in 50 overs were at 117 for 1 at the end of 19 overs when the lunch break was called. Yes, a break of 40 minutes was called by umpires leaving Indian skipper Virat Kohli astonished. Well, he was not the only man to left dumbfounded at cricket’s bizarre rules. Twitterati joined their captain in making their displeasure heard by taking potshots at the cricketing rules.

After Yuzvendra Chahal rattled South African batting line-up to limit their total to 118 runs, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan walked in to bat. While Sharma departed in the fourth over scoring 15 runs off 17 deliveries, Dhawan was joined in by Kohli. The duo batted effortlessly to stitch a partnership of 93 runs till the lunch break. Shikhar finally found his form back as he scored a well-made half-century. He was batting at 51 when at the end of 19 over, Kohli pushed Imran Tahir’s delivery to sweeper’s left and took two runs. Much to his surprise, the umpire announced, ‘Guys, Lunch’. Now, this was quite a bouncer from the match official as either of the sides did not look happy about it.

Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in limited over format to leave South Africa bruised. He was joined in the party by Kuldeep Yadav who was also amongst wickets. Yadav took three wickets. In absence of skipper Faf du Plessis and flamboyant batsman AB de Villiers, South Africa were completely a hapless side.
