Windies lost the first wicket early on in the first over when Kieran Powell was caught behind off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling. In next over, the visitors lost in-form batsman Shai Hope with just two runs on the board. Windies batsmen failed to create partnerships and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. And were eventually bundled out for just 104 runs.
Windies managed to cross the 100-run mark. If they had failed to do so, it would have been the ninth instance when Windies were bowled out under 100. In the fifth and final ODI at Thiruvananthapuram, India secured an impressive nine-wicket win. With this victory, India sealed the five-match ODI series 3-1. In response, India lost Shikhar Dhawan early. However, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli shared unbeaten 99-run stand for the second wicket to take their side to victory.
