The 2022 Asia Cup is the 15th edition of the event. It is being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and began with Afghanistan outplaying Sri Lanka on August 27 at the Dubai International Stadium. The Asia Cup 2022 is being played in a Twenty20 International format. In 1984 India defeated Sri Lanka to become the first-ever Asia Cup champions, which was held in UAE. The India team also emerged as champion after defeating Bangladesh by eight wickets in the 2016 Asia Cup which was the first edition of the event to be played in a T20I format.
