Delhi batsman Gautam Gambhir is known for calling a spade a spade and at times goes on a twitter meltdown to make his point clear. This time he has launched his tirade against the BCCI, CoA and CAB for allowing tainted former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell before the first T20 game between India and West-Indies at the Eden Gardens.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) as a part of an opening ceremony calls prominent personalities to ring the bell to mark the beginning of the game. But inviting Azharuddin for the ceremony riled Gambhir who slammed the governing bodies. India VS West Indies T20I Series 2018: I Wanted to Just Absorb the Pressure and Help Team to Win, Says Dinesh Karthik

Mohammad Azharuddin was banned by the BCCI after his name cropped up in a series of match-fixing scandals in 2000. The crafty batsmen played 99 test and 334 ODI games for India before becoming the centre figure of one of the worst controversies to have hit Indian cricket. His fall from grace was meteoric and for years he remained away from the public eyes.

But in 2012, the Andhra Pradesh High Court uplifted his ban and gave Azhar the platform to make a comeback. He unsuccessfully tried to contest the HCA polls but was barred by BCCI. He also has been making a number of appearances on TV debates as a pundit but it seems everyone is not yet forgiving.

The tweet by Gautam Gambhir has once again raised the raging controversy on whether BCCI is going soft on its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the game. Gambhir for one is convinced about this fact as he lashed out on the cricket administrators. Dinesh Karthik Keeps Wickets Instead of Rishabh Pant During India vs West Indies 2018 1st T20; Angry Netizens Question, ‘Why Not MS Dhoni?’

In a cryptic tweet, he questioned whether BCCI’s policy is on leave during Sundays( the day of the game). This will also have a far-reaching consequences for Mohammad Azharuddin as many more can join the discord against an accused player.
