The post-lunch session has seen a dramatic start with India wasting another review after Rassie van der Dussen was trapped in front by Umesh Yadav. The ball was going over the stumps and van der Dussen lives to fight another day. The contest is getting more and exciting with van der Dussen surviving run-out chances as well. At the moment, he and Keegan Petersen hold the key for South Africa as they continue to pile pressure on India.
It's lunch then on Day 2 and what has a session it has been! India started off with dismissing Aiden Markram on just the second ball of the day and they ended Keshav Maharaj's resistance as well shortly after. But the Rassie van der Dussen and Keegan Petersen partnership, something which has yielded 55 runs so far, have managed to put the hosts in control of the innings. India would want some more wickets after lunch as the hosts continue to fightback.

South Africa are slowly starting to rebuild their innings with a Keegan Petersen and nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj at the crease. The duo have managed to negotiate the threat posed by the Jasprit Bumrah-Mohammed Shami duo. They have played some good-looking shots so far.
India have struck early on Day 2 and that has surely shifted the momentum in their favour. South Africa would need a partnership while India would expect to take one or two more wickets so that they can get into the Proteas middle-order.
With the match in a very good balance, India and South Africa would aim to take the upper hand when they face each other during Day 2 of the third Test in Cape Town. The first day's play saw India skittled out for just 223 runs but captain Virat Kohli (79) did show a pure example of grit, determination and patience on a wicket where other batters failed to make a mark. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada was the star for South Africa as he breathed fire in Cape Town, taking four wickets. He was ably assisted by Marco Jansen, who took three to help his side restrict the Indian side. Duanne Olivier, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj took one wicket apiece. South Africa were 17/1 at the close of play on Day 1 with Aiden Markram and Keshav Maharaj at the crease.
