IND vs SA, 2nd Test 2019, Day 1: Chesteshwar Pujara Departs Ahead of Tea As Mayank Agarwal Marches on to Get a Hundred

Just when one thought that Chesteshwar Pujara was marching on his way to get a century, the dream run was halted by Kagiso Rabada who snapped his second wicket of the day at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. The pacer bowled a good length delivery and attacked the off-stump. Pujara pushed it an incorrect line a Faf du Plessis made no mistake and was seen walking back to the pavilion on the score of 58. This could be touted as quite a crucial wicket for the visitors as the two kept on adding runs to the partnership. For now, we have Indian captain Virat Kohli is the new man in and he has an opener, Mayank Agarwal, batting at the score of 86. The opener is on his way to score yet another century in the second test and has faced 171 runs so far in the first innings. Prior to Pujara’s wicket, it was Rohit Sharma who made way to the pavilion on the score of 14 runs. It was Kagiso Rabada who got his wicket and gave an early breakthrough to the team. Mayank and Pujara added 138 runs to the total, Meanwhile Rabada snapped a couple of wickets giving away 39 runs.

After Rohit Sharma’s wicket, Mayank and Pujara held the innings and displayed nerves of steel to propel India to the total of 168 runs for the loss of a couple of wickets. After winning the toss, India decided to bat first.  53 overs have been bowled so far in the day.
