Just when we thought that the hosts are going to have it easy on the visitors, Quinton de Kock and Dean Elgar stood tall for the South Africans at the VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. After the departure of Temba Bavuma on the score of 18 runs, Faf Du Plessis and Dean Elgar displayed nerves of steel and jointly contributed with 115 runs as they chased a total of 503. But Faf made way to the pavilion just after scoring his first Test fifty against India. It was Quinton de Kock and Dean Elgar who further led the team to a total of 292 runs. Quinton De Kock Musters Fifty in His Maiden Test Innings on Indian Soil During Day 3 of India vs South Africa 1st Test.

Quinton de Kock got his half-century and Dean Elgar got a hundred. This is the first time that both the batsman reached the milestone against India. During the course of his innings, de Kock smashed eight fours and one six. Whereas, Elgar who is currently batting on 133 smashed 14 fours and four sixes. The two batsmen contributed with 114 runs to the total and are in no mood to throw away their wicket so easily.  The Indian bowlers were also seen trying out various combinations but couldn't get their wickets easily.

Clearly the session was dominated by the visitors as they made the Indian bowlers toil for a wicket. From 37 overs, the South African team made 139 runs and they lost one wicket. So two consecutive sessions belonged to the Protean. As of now, the team South Africa trails by 210 runs and the pair would surely be waiting to stay around to not only complete the total.
